We are over a month into Midnight Season 1, and the Week 5 data has painted a definitive picture of the meta. The dust from the April hotfixes has fully settled. We now know exactly which buffs actually worked, which nerfs missed the mark entirely, and what the absolute most optimal 5-man team looks like in high keys.
Here is the 95th-percentile data for the current reset.
Mythic+ Breakdown (All Keys) The biggest DPS story in Mythic+ this week is the meteoric rise of Assassination Rogue. The recent AoE buffs completely pulled them out of the bottom tier and rocketed them straight into the Top 5. Meanwhile, Frost DK and Devastation Evoker are still scraping the absolute bottom, proving their targeted buffs were not enough.
The S-Tier DPS: Augmentation Evoker, Unholy DK, Devourer DH, Demonology Warlock and Assassination Rogue.
The Struggle Bus: Devastation Evoker, Destruction Warlock, Frost DK, Affliction Warlock and Outlaw Rogue.
The True M+ "God Comp" Looking at the most successful team compositions across all regions, a clear, undisputed "God Comp" has emerged. Despite catching nerfs earlier this month, Brewmaster Monk is completely dominating the tank role, backed up by Restoration Druid. If you look at the top 5 highest overall scores in M+ right now, they perfectly form the current meta group: Brewmaster Monk, Restoration Druid, Augmentation Evoker, Unholy Death Knight, and Devourer Demon Hunter.
Raid Breakdown (Heroic & Mythic) In the raid, Demonology Warlock is proving to be incredibly resilient. Despite Blizzard hitting them with a heavy pet crit nerf earlier this month, they are sitting comfortably at #2 in both Heroic and Mythic.
Heroic Top 5: Augmentation Evoker, Demonology Warlock, Frost Mage, Marksmanship Hunter, and Shadow Priest.
Mythic Top 5: Devourer Demon Hunter takes the absolute crown in Mythic scaling, followed by Demonology Warlock, Marksmanship Hunter, Shadow Priest, and Augmentation Evoker.
The Bottom Tier: If you are playing Beast Mastery Hunter, Feral Druid, or Subtlety Rogue in Mythic right now, you are fighting for your life at the bottom of the meters.
