Welcome back, Parsers.
It has been a quiet month for class tuning since the massive April 22 patch. With the meta completely solidified, we already know what the top of the ladder looks like. The S-Tier "God Comps" (featuring Augmentation, Devourer DH, and Unholy DK) are currently pushing the absolute ceiling, timing +24 keys.
But what about the players who refuse to reroll? What happens when you take the absolute worst mathematical specs in the game and try to push the ceiling?
This week, we are looking away from the meta to respect the one-tricks. Here is how high the "Struggle Bus" is actually pushing.
The Meta Ceiling (+24s) For context, if you are playing the absolute best specs in the game with a perfect group composition, the current highest timed keys are sitting at +24. That is the mathematical wall right now.
Devastation Evoker (+20) According to the current tier lists, Devastation is dead last in C-Tier. They bring zero of the utility that Augmentation has, and their damage scaling has fallen completely flat. Despite this, the absolute best Devastation one-tricks in the world are still managing to time +20s. It takes flawless execution (and likely a very understanding group), but they are getting it done four key levels below the S-Tier ceiling.
Destruction Warlock (+21) Destruction is sitting right next to Devastation in C-Tier. While Demonology has been feasting as a top-tier pick all season, the Destro loyalists have been fighting for their lives. The highest recorded Destro pushes are currently sitting at +21.
Frost Death Knight (+21) This is the nail in the coffin for the April 22 hotfixes. Even after receiving massive targeted buffs to Obliterate and Frost Strike, Frost DK is still hard-stuck. While their Unholy brothers are comfortably pushing +24s in the God Comp, the absolute highest Frost DKs are capping out at +21.
The Takeaway The meta matters at the absolute bleeding edge. A 3-4 key level gap between the top specs and the bottom specs is massive. But if your goal is just to get your +15s done for maximum vault rewards, this data proves you do not need to reroll. You can play C-Tier and still push high—you just have to work twice as hard for it.
